Quarter Note Update 1

PERFORMANCES & NM!

Another trip to New Mexico, fundraiser for Care & Counseling Center and Indian Guitar at a Pakistani wedding!

In April I went to Albuquerque, NM to modify an Imrat Guitar and attended the largest First Nations Pow Wow in the U.S. An Absolutely beautiful event.

On May 12 I did a straight ahead fundraiser for the Care and Counseling Center in trio format; guitar, acoustic bass and drums. With Maestro Steve Davis on drums and Ben Cohen on bass we performed a mix of classic standards, comps by Chick Corea, Coltrane and Davis as well as some of my new comps to be featured on an upcoming set of new recordings.

On May 12 I was fortunate to perform with Pakistan’s most respected tabla and percussion player Babar Kahanna for a most beautiful wedding event. With Babar we performed a mix of Carnatic, classical Raags YAMIN Khanlian and BhooPlai, my arrangements of Old Susanna and Shenandoah as well as some of my own compositions. Thank you Nabiha for a wonderful evening.

To finish out the month I had a wonderful gathering / party in celebration of Nishat Khan’s visit to his fathers grave site in St. Louis. Shahbaz and his beautiful wife Abby were amazing hosts with the most amazing food.
